About Us
We are students from Herricks High School and are working to raise awareness and money for ALS. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurodegenerative disease. Currently no cure has been discovered making diagnosis both terrifying and fatal. With this disease having affected several close friends, our late teacher, Mr. Tom Coleman, and families in our surrounding community, we felt that it was important to do something for the cause. After deliberating over what we could do, we came upon the idea of a golf charity event as it is was friend's father's favorite sport, one he continued to play even after he lost most of the motor function in his hands. Though this is still a relatively new event, we hope that with enough support from the community and others, this annual fundraiser will become an event that continues to live on for many years and will continue to help raise awareness, raise money for research, and raise support for those diagnosed and their families.
This year, we've decided to work with our school's community club to make this an annual event in our school community to further the cause and benefit for the ALS Community!
